The 5 Global WEC Standards – One Identity, One Mission for Better Wound Care.

Welcome to WEC® – Wound Experts Centre Our 5 Global Standards for Safe, Professional and Accessible Wound Care Better – Faster – Safer | Powered by Neudebri® Principles & Protocols At WEC – Wound Experts Centre, we believe that every patient deserves timely, professional, accessible and high-quality wound care, regardless of where they live. Our vision is to establish a globally recognizable network of Wound Experts Centres, united by five common standards of care. Every certified WEC partner is committed to implementing the Neudebri® principles and protocols while respecting local healthcare regulations, professional competencies and patient safety requirements. The 5 Global WEC Standards 1. Early Recognition and Comprehensive Assessment Every patient deserves a thorough assessment of their wound, skin condition, underlying health factors and potential risks. Early recognition of complications is essential, particularly for patients with diabetes, neuropathy, impaired circulation, chronic wounds or delayed healing. Our principle: Prevention begins with awareness, and effective treatment begins with proper assessment. 2. Timely Referral to Specialized Wound Care One of the most important responsibilities of healthcare professionals is recognizing when specialized care is needed. Patients presenting with complex wounds, neuropathic conditions, diabetic foot problems or an increased risk of complications should receive priority referral for specialized assessment. Whenever appropriate, patients may be referred to qualified Neudebri® Coaches, Experts or other authorized healthcare professionals within the WEC network. A Neudebri® certification demonstrates completion of relevant training but does not replace professional licensing or legally required clinical qualifications. Our principle: Refer early. Act appropriately. Prevent avoidable complications. Timely referral can make the difference between wound deterioration and recovery, and may help prevent avoidable amputations. 3. Proper Wound Preparation and Evidence-Informed Treatment At WEC, we emphasize the importance of wound-bed preparation as a foundation of effective wound management. Our Neudebri® approach focuses on appropriate cleansing, debridement, exudate management, protection of viable tissue and selection of treatment according to the wound's clinical condition. Our educational philosophy states: 75% of successful wound management begins with proper preparation. This percentage represents the WEC philosophy of prioritizing preparation rather than a clinically validated outcome statistic. WEC professionals are encouraged to select appropriate tools, techniques and products according to their qualifications, patient needs, approved indications and applicable clinical guidelines. Our principle: Prepare properly before expecting progress. 4. Patient Confidence, Compliance and Participation Successful wound management requires more than professional treatment. It depends on cooperation between the patient, healthcare professional, family and caregivers. At WEC, we encourage patient education, shared decision-making, understandable treatment instructions and consistent follow-up. Our Neudebri® philosophy emphasizes: Compliance 95% – Continuity Matters. This is our educational reminder of the importance of treatment adherence, not a scientifically established percentage of healing success. By building competence and confidence, we aim to improve patient participation and continuity of care. Our five guiding C's are: Competence → Confidence → Compliance → Continuity → Cure Here, Cure represents our aspiration for the best achievable patient outcome, recognizing that complete healing is not always possible. 5. Continuity, Quality Assurance and Global Collaboration Every WEC centre is expected to promote professional accountability, clear clinical documentation, structured follow-up and effective collaboration between healthcare providers. Certified WEC partners share a common commitment to the Neudebri® principles while adapting their services to local healthcare systems and professional regulations. Our goal is to make WEC a recognizable and trusted reference point for wound care worldwide. Our principle: One global identity. Shared standards. Locally responsible care. Do You Need Specialized Wound Care? If you are experiencing a complex wound, diabetic foot problem, neuropathic symptoms, persistent skin breakdown or a wound that is not healing as expected, timely professional assessment is important. Please consult our list of certified WEC professionals, Neudebri® Coaches and Experts available through your local WEC centre or appointment service. Our team can help direct you to an appropriately qualified healthcare professional. If you experience signs of severe infection, rapidly spreading redness, fever, blackened tissue or sudden changes in circulation, seek urgent medical attention rather than waiting for a routine appointment. WEC Worldwide – One Identity, One Mission WEC is designed to become a globally recognizable name for specialized wound care. Each country may adapt the full wording of WEC to its national language while maintaining its identity as a wound care centre. Our shared mission is simple: To make competent, timely and accessible wound care available whenever and wherever it is needed. We believe that better preparation, professional competence, patient confidence and continuity of care can contribute to better outcomes and fewer preventable complications. WEC® – Wound Experts Centre Treat the whole, not only the hole. Powered by Neudebri® – Better. Faster. Safer.
